My 2021 Valentine Memoir

You see my initial plan was to blog daily or weekly (push comes to shove) considering my passion for writing. But the past weeks have really been “one kind”. From the multiple projects at work to dwindling health as the weather changes, there’s been a lot on my plate. Anyway, I finally got to write in my cute notepad with a fancy pen yesterday. It was a note to my Beloved (and revised some of the content). Hope you enjoy the read:

14th February 2021

Hmm, writer’s block they say!

I’m sitting in front of this view with a fascinating imagery saying “Happy Valentine’s Day” which is literally written on the offshore beach of the Arabian / Persian Gulf.

Can this be real? The little girl from Ago-Iwoye (as my Dad teases) is here lodging in Bahi Ajman Palace hotel. I mean I’ll expect that any hotel which confidently includes “Palace” in it’s name should portray a certain level of luxury, and let’s say the Arabic hospitality was evident.

Oh no, this isn’t a solo staycation I embarked on; although I closed off work (relatively early at 5pm) to sit by this really amazing view to enjoy some time to “soliloquy” as I fondly say. I’m in this beauty with the one person I’m committed to doing life with. Of course, I love my family and friends, but took a vow to remain with this man as long as we both shall live. It’s surreal to think this young man has had my heart literally 9 years ago.

Our first valentine’s day in 2012 was truly amazing and beautiful; it’s the only one I remember for some reason, but this year’s celebration is definitely one that will not be forgotten in a hurry.

On this day when the world celebrates love, I’m thankful for my husband Solomon. I’m grateful that you’re my life partner and look forward to many more celebrations with you. This life is truly a journey and every day is more beautiful because you’re with me in it.

Babes, thank you for everything; the love per second, countless gifts, beautiful moments and memories; confidence of a reliable friend and much more the glorious days, weeks, months and years ahead.

PS: Took these pictures from “my view”.
